The Lantern, Ohio State’s student newspaper, did a nice video piece this week on Uloop. The video featured one of our great campus reps at Ohio State Melissa R.
Currently 1 out of every 5 undergrads at OSU use Uloop to buy and sell textbooks, find housing, jobs, carpools and more.
Uloop Campus Rep, Patrick Rucker, an EE major at Georgia Tech, put together a nice PSA for us. Well done Patrick!

We’ve had so many requests for Uloop t-shirts that we’ve decided to make your dreams a reality. We are busy working on so many cool things at Uloop.com that we decided to sell them straight from eBay!’

So get your Uloop swag on and send us pics of your Uloop love.
Uloop was featured in a story in the Nashville Business Journal by Cynthia Yeldell this month. The article is a good write up on what we’re doing as a company and where we’re headed.
…they believe Uloop will continue to grow and establish a presence on more campuses.
Cleek, who spent five years working for eBay, says he and the other founders - Ryan MacCarthy, Scott Lewis and Mike Ho - saw a void in the marketplace.

City on a Hill Press gave Uloop a nice blurb in a recent article. CHP gave some simple suggestions on how to make Earth Day everyday. It’s a good article, check it out. Uloop got a mention in number 9.
9. In fact, don’t throw away any electronics. Each college at UCSC has a program to recycle old cell phones and other electronics. Take advantage of ULoop and get some cash out of it.

As technology progresses it seems like some of our things are getting smaller and smaller. Take for instance the iPod. When the iPod first came out it was like a foot long by 3/4 foot. Now they’re 100 x’s smaller, no wonder students lose these things in droves. Through our research we’ve found that students are losing the smallest things and seeking help from other students on Uloop. The most common items are flash drives, iPods, keys, wallets, phones, meal cards, a French passport, dogs (chihuahuas and cockapoos) and glasses.

Thus we decided to come up with a few ways to help students not lose stuff.
Solutions:
-Buy a retro phone that is 8×4x2 inches
-Camera, don’t you have one of those on your phone?
-Chain your wallet to your person
-Keys (see above)
-Carry a Walkman rather than iPod Nano
-Flash drive, ever heard of paper and pen?
-Laptop, are you kidding me, our folks would kill us if we lost a laptop
-GET A BIGGER DOG!!!
Luckily Uloop is restoring students’ faith in humanity with a lot of found items. What impressed us the most was that the number of lost iPods was almost equal to the number of found iPods on Uloop. The concerning part was there were more found dogs than lost, hmmmm.
Great job students!!! You are the future and we’re proud!
We always love to hear about how Uloop helps students save money or find a new unsmelly roommate, but this was a first: a song and video singing the praises of our free resource? Justin is a student at UCSB and frequent Uloop user. We are so stoked and more overly impressed with Justin Ratowsky’s talents, what a great singer.
Thanks Justin!

NYU’s Washington Square News gave us a nod for our class notes section as one of their “6 quirky but useful internet buys“. We’re happy to help, NYU.
We only launched at NYU 2 months ago and with nearly 1 out of 5 NYU students already using Uloop, it’s easy to see how class notes can make a big impact.
